Bud Racing Kawasaki's Mathis Valin took over the red plate and overall win in the FIM European EMX250 Championship

The French teenager Mathis Valin showcased his talent by dominating both motos despite fluctuating weather. Saturday's race was held under rainy conditions, while Sunday saw bright sunshine. After taking the lead early in the second race, he maintained control with impressive bike skills on his KX™250, eventually building and sustaining a five-second lead. This secured his first EMX250 overall win, the red plate, and a twenty-three-point lead. Kawasaki now leads the FIM Manufacturers' Championship. Kawasaki MXGP rider Romain Febvre would finish 3-2, being credited the overall win until multiple riders were penalized which altered the standings, moving him down to second place overall for the weekend.

"A perfect weekend here in France with two moto wins! It was amazing today, and I didn’t feel any pressure; it was just a GP like any other even if I felt the crowd behind me; there was more public than yesterday and it was cool to race with this support. I got a good start and could quickly pass for the lead and control the race from the front. I am so happy and enjoyed every minute. If someone had told me at the beginning of the season that I would hold the red plate this year I'm not sure I would have believed them as there are some strong guys with a lot of experience in this championship, but it’s cool to get the red plate and now I will try to keep it until the end of the season."

"I worked really hard to be able to race today but the pain in my thumb was still quite high this morning and I surprised myself in the first race to finish third as I had to ride through a lot of pain; I did a really good job but I knew before the start I would not be able to hold on for the entire race. But when it started to rain again I said to the team 'this is what I need'. I was riding great after I took another holeshot and was riding a perfect race; I could ride my own race to manage my gap to second, but with four laps to go I had a really bad time with one lapped rider whose actions meant I had to roll two jumps. That was just not fair and my goggles got filled with water too. When I came to the finish I couldn't understand why the fans were cheering at first because I thought I had missed the overall after Jeffrey passed me on the last lap, but then someone told me Tim had fallen off. It was so great to share this victory on the podium with the fans; they stood out in the rain for me yesterday and again in race two today. Thank you to every one of you for your support. But then, after the podium celebration, came the disappointment."

“It was an unfortunate result at the end, but I'm super happy with my riding and where we're at with my KX250X. I started the race in third and passed my way into the lead through the Pro Section. I was then able to extend a decent gap ahead of the competition until I had an issue and needed to pull into the pits. We got the issue resolved and I jumped back into the race to salvage a sixth place finish.”
